The first Wednesday of each month all visitors to Sequoia Park Zoo can receive a half-off discount on the regular Sequoia Park Zoo ticket price. Some restrictions may apply.

The Zoo Economic Assistance Program (ZEAP) which provides opportunities to visit Sequoia Park Zoo FREE for those that qualify.

Seniors (ages 60+) are offered a Sequoia Park Zoo discount ticket.

Humboldt County Library card holders can check out a Sequoia Park Zoo one-day family pass for either 2 adults & 2 children OR 1 adult & 3 children for a free visit to the zoo. The pass must be used within 30 days of check out

EBT card holders are $2 for up to 5 tickets for members of their household. Proper ID and card must be shown at time of purchase.

Eureka residents can receive a Sequoia Zoo discount with proof of residency. Not valid on discount Wednesdays. Some restrictions may apply.

About Sequoia Park Zoo

The Sequoia Park Zoo was founded in 1907 and is the oldest zoo in California. Although not a large zoo, there are some unique exhibits. The Nancy Hilfiker Memorial Aviary allows you to walk through a free flight area that houses local and tropical birds.  

The Barnyard is home to donkeys, alpacas, rabbits and many other animals with which children can interact. The Secrets of the Forest is an interactive indoor display that focuses on the local ecosystem such as banana slugs, king snakes and pond turtles.

Some of the other animals that you can see at the Sequoia Park Zoo are gibbons, spider monkey, black bear, Gray fox, tamarins, owl, flamingo, peccary and red pandas.

Sequoia Park Zoo Details

This California zoo is open throughout the year.

Sequoia Zoo hours are: Winter Hours: Monday, 10 am - 4 pm, Tuesday – Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm and Summer Hours (Memorial Day – Labor Day): Open 7 days a week, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Adults (13-59) $10, Children (3-6) $6, Children two and under are FREE. Military (with ID)  $7, Seniors (60+)  $7.

The Sequoia Park has picnic grounds and two play areas.

The zoo has a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.
