About Santa Cruz Boardwalk
This Santa Cruz Boardwalk opened in 1907, making it the oldest surviving amusement park in California. Santa Cruz Boardwalk is recognized for its awesome rides, family atmosphere, remarkable history and amazing beach view making it known as the best seaside amusement park in the world. The 1924 Giant Dipper is one of America’s top wooden roller coasters, and is also a national historic landmark.
Of course, that is not the only thrill that this California attraction has to offer. UNDERTOW is Northern California’s first and only spinning roller coaster, as well as six other thrill rides. There is plenty of amusement park staples for families to enjoy together like the Ferris wheel, Pirate Ship, a Free-fall ride and a log flume coaster called Loggers Revenge.
There are also unique rides for families such as glow in the dark Bumper Cars called the Space Race, a high voltage teacup ride called Tornado, and the Cave train, an underground glow in the dark adventure featuring the original 1960's cast of characters. There are 9 rides with the little ones in mind such as Looff Carousel, Speed Boats and Jet Copters.
The arcade at Santa Cruz Boardwalk has a wide range of games from the newest video and redemption games to their vintage game collection, making it the largest selection of arcade games in northern California. Also at Santa Cruz Boardwalk is a two story miniaturegolf course and a huge laser tag arena.
Since its free to get into the Boardwalk, many people visit just for the outstanding food, the corndogs made from a special family recipe and many other new fair style foods to choose from such as chocolate covered bacon and deep-fried Twinkies.
