About Santa Barbara Zoo
The Santa Barbara Zoo is a small but beautiful zoo. This California zoo focuses on quality rather the amount of animals they have in their zoo. Volunteers worked on building the zoo from its start.
This Santa Barbara attraction is located near the Pacific Ocean and many areas of the zoo have views of it. The lovely location of the zoo adds to its beauty. Gardens have been developed and guests walk through coral tree, jacarandas, silk trees, bananas and giant bird of paradise. The garden plantings compliment the nearby exhibits.
This AZA accredited California zoo has over 30 acres and over 500 animals consider it home. It has over 160 species of animals including mammals, reptiles, birds and insects. Some of the major exhibits African Veldt, Amur Leopard, California Trails, Cats of Africa, Channel Island Fox, Chilean Flamingo, Penguin House, Eeeww! Hair-Raising Helpers from Around the World, Elephant Walk, The Forest’s Edge and much more. Animals you can see are snow leopard, gibbons, anteater, monkeys, tropical birds, giraffes, lions and black-footed cats.

The zoo in Santa Barbara is open every day of the year. On some holidays, they may close early.
Santa Barbara Zoo hours are 10 am to 5 pm most days. It is open from 10 am to 3:30 pm on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas Eve.
Regular Santa Barbara Zoo admission price tickets are Adults $18, Children $10, Senior (65 and up) $13 and Children under two are FREE.
Parking is $8 during the week and $11 on the weekend for guests. Parking is FREE for one vehicle for Santa Barbara Zoo members.
Picnic lunches are allowed in the zoo. The zoo also provides food through a restaurant, seasonal food carts and vending machines throughout the zoo.
Wheelchairs, strollers and wagons are available for a small rental fee at the gift shop. There is also some disabled parking available. The zoo is fully wheelchair accessible.
The Santa Barbara Zoo has some additional attractions available for an extra cost. They are barnyard animal feeding, carousel, giraffe feeding, Climb for Condors and the Zoo train.
The Kallman Family Play Area and Doc Dino Show and visiting the Barnyard is FREE.
