About San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo is made up of two different areas, the Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. This San Diego Zoo is located at the address above adjacent to Balboa Park. The Wild Animal Park is located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, California, which is about 35 miles northeast of the San Diego Zoo.

The California zoo has 100 acres and is home to over 4,000 animals. Visitors can see the zoo by walking the pathways or taking a guided bus tour. Some visitors
like to take the 35 minute bus tour to get an overview of the zoo and then decide which areas they would like to go back to explore further. The San Diego Zoo also offers shows and animal presentations.

The San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park has 1,800 acres and over 3,000 animals. The park offers many herd-style animals from the African and Asian plains and savannas. The animals are grouped with others they would normally roam with in the wild.
