About Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

The Alabama Zoo has over 300 animals. These include lions, tigers, bears and monkeys. It also offers a petting zoo, reptile house, aviary and animal shows every day through the summer. Animal encounters are available for a small fee. These often include the opportunity to hold, feed and pet some of the animal such as kangaroos, lemurs, African serval cat and Bengal tiger cubs. Zoo events include a Zoo Camp, Annual Low Country Boil and Annual Boo at the Zoo.

This Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is known as “The Little Zoo That Could”. This zoo was given the nickname by the prime time Animal Planet series that featured some of its struggles in the last few years.  

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo Details

The Gulf Coast Zoo is open every day except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. It is only open until noon on the day before these holidays.  

The hours for the zoo are 9am - 4 pm every day it is open.

Regular Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo ticket prices are Adults (12+) $11, Children $8, Senior $9, plus tax, with children under 2 FREE.
