About Squam Lakes Science Center
The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is located in Holderness, New Hampshire. Although it is a nature center with an emphasis on education, it has a large number of animals and is also an AZA-accredited zoo.
This New Hampshire nature center has exhibits along hiking trails that wind their way through the wooded grounds. Although an education center, it offers the education along with fun and exploration so it is appealing to guests. The zoo has self-guided tours but you can also arrange for some guided tours as well. One favorite, although it Is an extra cost, is the Lake Cruise.
You can make a day of it and walk some of their hiking trails for beautiful scenery and a chance to see some wild animals. Or check out the Kirkwood Gardens which are lovely and FREE.
Squam Lakes Science Center Details
Hours for the zoo from May 1 through November 1 are 9:30am – 4:30pm.
Regular zoo ticket prices are Adults $19, Youth (3-15) $14 and Children 2 and under are FREE. Seniors (65 and up) are $16.
The Lake Cruise is a separate ticket and its cost is Adults: $25 and Youth (3-15): $21, Senior (65 and up): $19. It is not recommended for children under 3 years of age. Members of the zoo can save $4 per person on the Lake Cruise admission costs.
You can take food and drink into the zoo. Picnic tables are located are located near the entrance of the Science Center.
