San Francisco Zoo FREE Days. This zoo offers a FREE day at certain times of the year for San Francisco residents only. Proof of residency must be shown.

About San Francisco Zoo
The San Francisco Zoo is located in Northern California near the Bay. It has over 250 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. The zoo is made up of different areas such as African Region, Children’s Zoo, Outback Trail, Primate Discovery Center, Cat Kingdom, South America and Bear Country. Some of the animals you can see are zebra, giraffe, gorilla, rhino, hippo, lion, tiger, grizzly bear, ostrich and monkey.
This California zoo has a carousel and a train ride. They are both a small extra fee. This California zoo also has Talking Storybooks and Zoo Keys, which offer stories and fun facts about the animals throughout the zoo. It is also a small extra fee.
This zoo in San Francisco offers animal feeding mainly in the morning and late afternoon. These include Penguin, grizzly bear and American white pelican feedings.

The zoo in San Francisco is open every day of the year.
San Francisco Zoo hours are seasonal. From early November to early March, they are open from 10 am to 4 pm. From early March to early November, hours are from 10 am to 5 pm. Some exhibits may open a bit later or close a bit earlier. The Lion House is open from 1 pm to 4 pm. Bad weather can change the hours. It is recommended you call ahead to see if they are open during bad weather.
San Francisco Zoo prices are Adults $19, Children (4-14) $13, Senior (65 and over) $16 and Children 3 and under are FREE.
San Francisco Zoo parking is $10 during the week and $12 on the weekends. Some FREE street parking can be found on Sloat Boulevard.
