Admission prices are lower from November - February.  Visiting during this time can save you money per ticket.

Memberships are offered by the Philadelphia Zoo and can be printed out at home and used the same day.  A family membership includes free admission to the Philadelphia Zoo year-round, FREE parking for one vehicle per visit, FREE admission to the Tree house and Lorikeet Encounter, discounts on 100 other zoos nationwide and discounts on programs, birthday parties, workshops and purchases.

About Philadelphia Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo was opened in 1874 is the oldest zoo in America.  It contains over 1,300 animals on it’s 42 acres of land.  The zoo is set in a Victorian garden and most of the zoo’s inhabitants are endangered species from all over the world.  Some family favorites are the cheetahs, hippos and giraffes.  

The Philadelphia Zoo has over 17 habitats including African Plains, Australian Animals, Bear Country, Children’s Zoo, Pachyderm House, Rare Animal Conservation Center and Tortoise Trail.


Philadelphia Zoo Details

This Philadelphia zoo is open all year except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and the second Thursday in June.

Philadelphia Zoo hours from March 1 to October 1 are 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Philadelphia Zoo ticket prices are: Adults - $23, Children (2 - 11) - $19, Children under 2 are FREE and members of the Philadelphia Zoo are FREE.

The zoo has other activities which are on a charge per service cost such as the Amazon Rainforest Carousel, Camel Rides and the Channel 6 Zooballoon.  Cost for these activities range from $3 - $15.

Parking is $12 for the general public.  Members parking is FREE with a valid membership card.

Although the Philadelphia Zoo does have food concessions, it also allows food to be brought into the zoo.  It has several outdoor picnic areas located throughout the park.  Alcohol is not permitted in the zoo.
