Aboout Kansas City Zoo
Kansas City Zoo is located in Kansas City Missouri. This AZA Missouri zoo is home to over 1,000 animals. This zoo sits inside the 1,805 acre Swope Park which is both pretty and historic. This zoo has three historic area located inside it. They are: 1909 Zoo Building, Suspension Bridge and Lagoon and Boathouse.
Kansas City Zoo is divided into the following sections: Australia, Tiger Trail, Tropics, KidZone and African Plains.
Kansas City Zoo has won many awards and was named America’s Best Zoos 2008. It addition, it was ranked number one in the nation for African Animals and Exhibits and Top Ten for Australian Animals and Exhibits.

Kansas City Zoo is open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Hours for the zoo are 9:30am - 4pm on weekdays and 9:30am - 5pm on weekends.
Regular Kansas City Zoo ticket prices are Adults: $16.00, Children (3-11): $13.00 and Children 2 and under are FREE. Seniors (age 55 and up): $15.00.
Parking is FREE.
Extra activities are offered at the zoo. These include a tram, train, African Sky Safari, carousel, boat and camel rides. Some of these are included in the Gold or Platinum Combo ticket. If bought individually, prices range from $1.50 to $5 per activity per person.
Strollers, wagons, wheelchairs and ECVs are available for rent at Guest Relations.
Food and drink can be brought into the zoo with the exception of glass containers or alcoholic beverages. Picnic areas are scattered throughout the zoo.
The zoo also has several restaurants and snack areas.
