May 14, 2017 - Mothers receive FREE admission
June 18, 2017 - Fathers receive FREE admission.
July 2, 2017 - FREE admission for active or veteran military and their immediate family members all day.
July 29, 2017 - Receive $2 off general admission for wearing stripes.
September 10, 2017 - Grandparents Day. Grandparents receive FREE admission all day.
November 12, 2017 - Veterans day. FREE admission to all military veterans with proper ID.

The zoo usually features a Grandparents Day. All Grandparents get into the zoo for FREE with or without their grand kids.
The Zoo usually offers FREE admission to all veterans and their family on Veteran's Day.
A discount Dickerson Park Zoo ticket price is available for seniors 60 years old and older.
A group rate is available for groups of 15 or more paying guests. This will save you about half the cost of regular admission. Reservations are needed.

About Dickerson Park Zoo
This AZA-accredited zoo has both domestic and exotic animals. As you walk this pleasant Springfield zoo’s 1.2 mile tour, you will see peacocks roaming the grounds.
This Missouri zoo is broken down into several areas. One of these areas is Missouri Habitats which focuses on the state's animals. Here you will see black bear, coyote, red fox, raccoon, bobcat, river otter mount lion, deer and gray wolf.
Children will enjoy the petting zoo where they can pet such animals as goats and donkey. A playground is also situated about halfway through the zoo.
A train ride and animal feedings including the giraffes are offered at this zoo and may be an extra charge.
Dickerson Park Zoo Details
Dickerson Park Zoo is open every day of the year except for New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Hours for the zoo are 9am - 5pm from April to September and 10am - 4pm October to March. The zoo may have some snow days when it is closed due to ice or snow.
Regular Dickerson Park Zoo ticket prices are Adults: $12, Children (3-12): $8, Children 2 and under are FREE and Seniors (60 and over): $8.
The zoo does not allow large food coolers inside. However, the zoo is located in the Dickerson Park and there are a number of picnic areas there. The zoo will give you a re-admit ticket for you to re-enter the zoo.
The zoo does have a café and snack area open certain times of the year. Vending machines and the gift shop have drinks, snacks and ice cream all year round.
Stroller (single and double) rentals are available for $4 and $6. Wheelchairs are available FREE. ECVs are offered for $20 a day.
