About Cleveland Zoo

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is home to over 3,000 animals from more than 600 species.  This zoo also is a botanical garden and has some beautiful gardens outside and in the Rainforest.  A plant locator map is available on request at the ticket booth.  Seasonal attractions such as Flutter! and Twilight at the Zoo are available throughout the year.

This Cleveland Zoo is divided into six main areas. They are Primate, Cat and Aquatics building, Australian Adventure, Waterfowl Lake, Northern Trek, African Savanna and The Rainforest. The Rainforest is an enclosed building that has a Bornean Orangutan exhibit, a tropical rainstorm and a winding walkway with beautiful orchids along with many other plant exhibits.

The Know and Go Review: "We have been to the Cleveland Zoo many times and always enjoyed it. The Elephant Crossing Exhibit is outstanding.  The Rainforest is a great place to go in the middle of winter as it is always so warm! It has a large number of animals and insects in very nice settings. We have often gotten the orangutans to interact with us.  The zoo also has a beautiful wolf exhibit that includes some other North American animals.  It is a large zoo and we usually spend most of the day there."
