About Baton Rouge Zoo
BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The AZA-accredited zoo has over 1,400 animals that call it home. This Louisiana attraction offers some of the most popular animals people like to see. You will see tigers at the exhibit Realm of the Tiger. Africa offers giraffes, gazelles, zebras, rhinos and more. Australia houses kangaroos, emus and cassowary birds as well as plants from the continent.
Jaguars can be seen at the South American Cloudforest Adventure along with spectacled bears. The exhibit is a jungle-like exhibit complete with a small stream. The Otter Pond offers underwater viewing of the river otters and L’Aquarium De Louisiane houses the reptiles, fish and amphibians that are home to the state of Louisiana.
Birds of Prey, Parrot Paradise, Birds of the World and Flamingo Cove have birds from around the world such as bald eagle, rhinoceros hornbill, Andean condor, parrots, macaws and Chilean flamingos.

BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo is open every day of the year with the exception of New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
BREC's Zoo’s hours are 9:30am - 5pm every day with some extended hours throughout the summer months.
Regular ticket prices for Baton Rouge Zoo are Adults $8.75, Children (2-12) $5.75, Seniors $7.75, and Children 1 and under are FREE.
Zoo train rides are available for an extra fee of $2 per person.
Single & Double Strollers, wheelchairs and ECV’s are available for rent. Prices range $6 - 18.
The zoo does not have picnic facilities and guests cannot bring in food or drink. However on the north side of the zoo, Greenwood Park has picnic facilities. Make sure you get a hand stamp for re-entering the zoo. The zoo has a café and concession stands.
