About Alaska Zoo

The Alaska Zoo has over 20 acres of boreal forest and a petting zoo, discovery center and gift shop. It opened in 1969.  Some of the animals you can see at the zoo are wolves, bald eagles, sheep, snow leopard, yaks and polar bears. Many animals became orphaned or injured in the wild and the zoo in Alaska took them in to care for them.
